About Hugsback
We are Timo and Noah, two brothers and the founders of Hugsback.
In 2025, we started Hugsback from one simple belief: everyone deserves a moment when the world feels a little softer. A moment of calm, warmth and comfort and security, especially when everyday life is busy, tiring or overwhelming.
That is why we develop weighted plush toys that combine softness with carefully distributed weight. Plush toys that feel nice in your arms and can give you a familiar moment to yourself.

Why we started Hugsback
We noticed how many people need a moment of calm in everyday life. After school, work, a busy day or a moment with lots of stimuli, it can feel nice to hold something soft and familiar.
Weighted blankets had been known for some time, but they are not always easy to take with you or use quickly. So we asked ourselves: what if you could combine the comfort and security of a plush toy with the tangible weight of a weighted product?
From that idea, Hugsback was born: a familiar plush companion that brings softness and weight together.

It started with a plush toy
Twenty-year-old Timo and 17-year-old Noah saw how, in a busy world, we are finding it increasingly difficult to truly unwind. This sparked the idea for Hugsback – born from something small, yet great in meaning: a plush toy. A plush toy that is not only given, but gives one back too.

The development
We searched for the perfect balance of weight, softness and quality. Every Hugsback is carefully designed with 2 kg glass beads for deep, calming pressure, ultra-soft mink fabric and a warm, lifelike appearance that feels instantly familiar.

A flying start
From the very first moment, our plush toys found their way into hearts and living rooms. People discovered how a Hugsback helps with tension, anxiety and overstimulation – and shared their stories with us. The Hugsback family grew faster than we had ever dared to dream.

This is how we develop our Hugsback weighted plush toys
Every Hugsback starts with an idea, but is only released when the shape, softness, weight and finish feel right to us.
Design and shape
We determine not only what the animal looks like, but also how the plush toy rests in your arms. The proportions of the head, body and legs affect both its appearance and comfort.
Materials and weight
We choose an ultra-soft outer fabric and a sturdy inner construction. The weight consists of small glass beads distributed across different parts of the plush toy.
Reviewing samples
With every sample, we check the shape, colour, seams, softness and weight distribution, among other things. Even small details are adjusted when the overall look is not quite right yet.
Check & improve
We stay involved throughout production, too. We then incorporate customer experiences into new models and future production runs.
